Marie would begin her Christmas shopping notoriously early, especially when the girls were younger and she could get their soon-to-be-favourite toys in the summer sales, to store out of sight until nearer the time. It became a tradition between us that she'd send me a message when she'd made her first purchase (usually around this time - June/ July) for the following festive season. She'd then send me updates on the number of shopping dates left until Christmas etc. She was my personal almanac, reminding me of important forthcoming dates that I may not be aware of because I live abroad. I guess I will have to up my game and be a lot more organised from now onwards. You will be much missed, Marie.
